A Resurrection-Shaped Voice Provides Peace.

Day 13 (Mar 4th)
Day 13 (Mar 4th)

Jesus says,

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you… I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27, NIV).

That sounds beautiful… but if we’re honest, peace can feel hard to find. Some days your mind is like a browser with 37 tabs open—homework, friends, family stuff, sports, money, drama, and that one thing you keep replaying at night. You can be sitting in a quiet room and still feel loud on the inside.

Jesus knows that feeling. That’s why he doesn’t just say, “Calm down.” He says, “I’m giving you my peace.”

He went to the cross to provide you with peace. He carried to the cross all of the world's hate, all the sin, all the darkness. Then he walked out of the tomb alive. That means his peace isn’t pretend. It’s not a “nice thought.” It’s resurrection peace—the kind of peace that has already been through the worst and still stands.

So when we say, “A resurrection-shaped voice is a voice of peace,” we mean this:

Because Jesus is alive, we don’t have to talk like fear is in charge. We don’t have to speak like anger is driving is driving the buss. We don’t have to use our words like weapons.

A resurrection-shaped voice sounds like Jesus.

  • It sounds like, “I’m listening.”

  • It sounds like, “I’m sorry.”

  • It sounds like, “I forgive you.”

  • It sounds like, “Let’s not make it worse.

So here’s a simple prayer for today:

“Jesus, my heart feels troubled. I feel afraid. Please give me your peace. Put your peace in my mind, my heart, and in my mouth. Help my voice sound like yours. Amen.”
