Jesus in Your Shoes

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you.” (Ephesians 1:18)
God did not save you to become a dusty trophy on heaven’s shelf. He saved you so Jesus could walk into the room wearing your shoes.
That is the hope of His calling. Not just that you are forgiven. You are. Not just that heaven is promised. It is. Not just that your name is written in the book of life. By grace, it is.
But God has more in mind.
He wants the life of Jesus to show up in your life. In your words. In your work. In your home. In your attitude. In your tired Monday morning face. In the way you answer when someone is sharp. In the way you keep going when the road gets steep.
You cannot save yourself. Jesus has already done that. The cross was not a down payment. It was payment in full.
But the grace God works into you must now work its way out of you. Faith has feet. Grace has a voice. Hope has hands.
To make this happen, God lets you meet a few walls (trials and tribulations). Not because He has left you. Not because He is punishing you. Not because He enjoys your struggle. But because walls reveal what is really holding you up.
Maybe your wall is a hard conversation. Maybe it is a long wait. Maybe it is a person who drains you. Maybe it is pain that will not explain itself. Maybe it is a duty you would rather avoid.
Do not waste the wall. That may be the very place where Jesus wants to be seen. Your gentleness may show someone His kindness. Your courage may show someone His strength. Your patience may show someone His peace. Your forgiveness may show someone His cross.
So today, rise to the moment. No whining at the wall. No dictating terms to God. Just open hands, steady faith, and one brave prayer:
Lord Jesus, be seen in me.
