Walk in the Light

Ephesians 5:8

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light…”

There are moments in life when everything feels clear. A sermon grips your heart. A song in worship opens your eyes. A quiet prayer time leaves you full of courage. In those moments, faith feels strong and bright. You feel ready to obey God, ready to forgive, ready to change, and ready to trust. Paul says, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light…” (Ephesians 5:8). In other words, when God gives you light, do not just admire it. Walk in it.

That is where many of us struggle. We love the bright moment, but we do not always love the next ordinary day. We love the mountaintop, but we do not always know what to do when Monday morning comes. The feeling fades. The fire cools. The inspiration softens. And then we are tempted to treat that holy moment as a memory rather than a calling.

But God does not give light just to stir your emotions. He gives light so you can take the next step.

If God showed you that you need to make something right, then make it right. If He showed you someone you need to encourage, then reach out. If He showed you a sin you have been excusing, then confess it. If He showed you a new path of obedience, then start walking. Do not wait until you feel more spiritual. Do not wait until it becomes easier. Light is meant for walking, not just for looking.

A lot of people want a faith that always feels high, full, and powerful. But strong faith is not proved in the bright hour. Strong faith is proven in the gray day. It is proven when you still obey after the feeling is gone. It is proven when you still trust after the tears come. It is proven when you still walk forward with the little bit of light God has given you.

So do not let the light fade into a good intention. Put weight on it. Act on it. Trust Jesus enough to obey what He has already shown you. The same Lord who met you in the bright moment will walk with you in the ordinary one. And step by step, He will teach you how to live in His light.

Have a Great Week!
