On Sunday, February 22 at 9:30 AM, we’re inviting you to a special morning of worship we’re calling Jazz Sunday at Martin’s Lutheran Church—a service where the Gospel remains front and center, and the music brings a little extra spark to the room.
Jazz has a way of doing what great worship music always does: it wakes us up. It makes us listen. It leaves space for joy, space for breath, and space for the Spirit to move in the moments between the notes.
Featured Musical Group: Northland Dixie Combo
We’re excited to welcome the Northland Dixie Combo, bringing bright horns, rich rhythm, and the kind of musical warmth that feels like good news you can clap along with.
Musicians include:
Jeremy Brekke (FM Symphony) — trumpet
Matt Patnode — clarinet
Steve Wallevand — trombone
Doug Neill (FM Symphony) — tuba
Bill Mohn — drums
David Ferreira — piano
What to Expect
Come as you are—dress up, dress down, bring your kids, bring your neighbor, bring your “I haven’t been to church in a while” self. This is a Sunday for worshipers and wonderers alike.
You can expect:
A Christ-centered service
Music that’s lively, reverent, and fun
A welcoming room where you don’t have to have it all together
Spread the Word
If you know someone who loves jazz—or someone who could use a little lift—this is an easy Sunday to invite them.
