“Do not worry about your life…” Matthew 6:25
Worry is sneaky. It doesn’t kick the front door down. It slips in through the side door. It shows up as “just being responsible.” It sounds like, “What if the money runs out? What if the relationship breaks? What if the future falls apart?” And before you know it, worry is sitting in the driver’s seat, hands on the wheel, telling your heart where to go.
Jesus speaks right into that swirl: Do not worry about your life. Not because food, bills, and people don’t matter. They do. But Jesus knows what happens when they become the biggest thing. Worry grows like weeds. It crowds out the good seed God planted in you. It chokes hope. It steals sleep. It shrinks your world down to one question: How will I make it?
Jesus gives you a better “one thing.” Make your relationship with Him first. When worries compete for first place, let them stand in line behind Jesus. You can think about your needs—just don’t make them your master. Your Father sees more than you see. He knows your real needs, not just your loud fears.
And for today—just today—Jesus says, Enough. Today has enough trouble of its own. So take the “mean little imps” of tomorrow—those tiny, nagging what-ifs—and hand them back to God. Lift your eyes to the “much more” kind of Father you have. The One who cares for birds and flowers will not forget you. Not even close.
Have a Great Week!
