Romans 8:11
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also…”
There are days when the soul feels threadbare—when motivation evaporates, prayers feel thin, and hope seems like something other people carry more easily than we do. You know those days. The days when you wake up tired, go to bed tired, and somewhere in between you wonder if you’ve simply run out of whatever it takes to keep going.
Paul has a word for days like that.
He reminds us that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the tomb isn’t just hovering in heaven, cheering us on from afar. That Spirit dwells in you. Not occasionally. Not when you “feel spiritual.” Not when you’ve had a good week. Right now. Steadily. Faithfully. Quietly bringing resurrection power to places in your heart that feel like winter.
Notice Paul’s logic:
If God raised Jesus physically from the dead…
and if that Spirit now lives inside you…
then God can breathe life into everything in you that feels lifeless.
A resurrection-shaped voice speaks this truth into weary hearts: You are not running on your own strength. You are not left to push the boulder up the hill by yourself. The Spirit of the Living God has taken up residence in your “mortal body”—your ordinary, breakable, limited life—and is already working resurrection from the inside out.
Maybe you don’t feel strong today. Perhaps you feel spiritually numb. But resurrection is not a feeling—it’s a presence. And that presence is in you.
So take a breath.
Sit still for just a moment.
Whisper a simple prayer: “Holy Spirit, breathe Your life into me again.”
You don’t have to resurrect yourself. The One who raised Jesus is already at work. And He specializes in bringing life to places that feel dead inside.
Have a Great Day!
